Introduction to BAIC (Beijing Automotive/Beijing Off-Road/BJEV/Arcfox/Senova) Diagnostic Tools:
The BAIC BJEV Diagnostic System (BDS) is primarily designed for BAIC’s own-brand passenger vehicles.
The Foton Truck Diagnostic System (TDS) is primarily designed for BAIC’s own-brand commercial vehicles.
1. Basic General Diagnostic Functions (Supports both petrol and new energy vehicles)
• Full Vehicle Auto-Scan: Scans all ECUs in the vehicle at the touch of a button, identifies communicable electronic control modules, quickly locates which system is faulty.
• Read DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes): Current fault codes, historical fault codes, and freeze frames (data stream at the moment the fault occurred), accompanied by fault descriptions.
• Clear Fault Codes: Clears stored fault codes upon completion of repairs (codes can only be cleared after the fault has been rectified; in the case of hardware faults, the codes will reappear after clearing).
• Real-time data stream: Reads dynamic parameters from various sensors and controllers.
– Internal combustion engine vehicles: Engine speed, throttle position, coolant temperature, oxygen sensor, fuel pressure, etc.
– New energy vehicles: Motor speed, torque, bus voltage, insulation resistance, high-voltage status.
• Version information retrieval: Retrieve part numbers, software versions and VIN codes for each ECU, for use in spare parts verification.
• Function testing (active testing): Drive components to perform individual actions to verify component integrity.
• Generate diagnostic reports: Export diagnostic records for maintenance records.

• BMS (Battery Management System)
– Individual cell voltage, module temperature and voltage differential detection to assess State of Health (SOH).
– Battery pack relay control, battery balancing detection and insulation monitoring.
– Battery capacity calibration and offline battery pack diagnostics (individual testing after disassembly).
• VCU (Vehicle Control Unit): Control of high-voltage system power-on/off, power limitation, gear position signals and regenerative braking monitoring.
• MCU (Motor Controller Unit): Motor temperature, IGBT temperature, three-phase current, motor overload and stalled-rotor detection.
• OBC (On-Board Charger) + DC-DC: AC charging monitoring, charging power, DC low-voltage conversion status.
